Major Bus Body Builder in Hong Kong achieves ISO 9001 certification : Know of any Company in Hong Kong who fabricate buses ? Many people just think that Buses are imported products. But in fact, there are around 4 bus body building Companies in Hong Kong …., and,…. China Kong Auto Body Builders is one of them. China Kong buys the engine, the steering and transmission system from foreign manufacturers like Man, Volvo, Scania etc. Then the technicians of China Kong will start to build the bus from them. Those that will be built include the bus body framework, electrical wiring, hi-fi, air conditioning, lighting, sky light, luggage compartment, chairs, PA system, etc. China Kong, though has been doing business in HK for many years, has planned to go a step further by establishing a world class Quality Management System ISO 9001. N. Law and Associates Management Consultancy Ltd., having over 10 years experience in ISO 9000, was engaged as the consultant. The project commenced in July 2004. Throughout the establishment and implementation of the management system, it was found that the work was not at all easy as they were very busy and they did not used to the new concept of a documented management system. Initially, a lot of resistance was encountered, including those from the middle management personnel. Finally, the message was well delivered by Top Management to all levels including the workers and subcontractors. The Certification Body was BVQi who did the audit in July 2005. Everything proceeded smoothly and the Company was certified in August 2005 to ISO 9001:2000.
